I don’t have children but this is something I’ve often thought about. If I did have kids, how could I avoid transferring my complexes about food and appearance onto them? I don’t have serious complexes, but I’d rather my kids didn’t have any – if I had kids, that is. Perhaps it’s best to acknowledge right off the bat that it’s impossible for parents to hide their complexes from their children. Complexes will be transferred onto the next generation, and the one that comes after that, and so on. But perhaps we can dilute them in the process?
